    What is Dissolve Therapy

Dissolve Therapy is an internal release method that helps the body and mind let go of deep tension and stress. Instead of forcing change, it uses awareness, gentle attention, and embodied presence to allow contraction to naturally soften. Over time, this builds ease, resilience, and clarity in daily life.
Dissolve Therapy bridges the gap between somatic practices, eastern internal arts, yoga and classical mindfulness and meditation practice.

How is it different from regular massage, yoga, or meditation?

Massage works mainly on the skeleto-muscular system. Yoga and meditation often focus on stretching the muscles and ligaments for flexibility and relaxing the body and mind.

Dissolve Therapy’s main focus is to go deeper than relaxation into deep levels of release—working with the body’s subtle holding patterns, nervous system, and fascia to unwind tension at its root.
The way we train begins to cultivate an awareness of the clinging and holding within the connection of the mind and body itself.

We first turn learn to turn our attention towards the body in an effective way, then notice the impact deep levels of release have upon the mind. Eventually this allows us to also work with the awareness itself as the “key” or “lynch pin” to cultivating a profound harmony between the body and mind. This allows for more of a stable and transformative approach that doesn’t overstimulate or create any sort of side effects.

It’s not about stretching harder, holding the perfect posture, getting super flexible or sitting still longer; it’s about releasing the hidden, unconscious contractions at the core of the stress/fight-flight response and becoming more open, spacious, deeply calm, joyful and resilient, able to access the deepest aspects of our being with ease. We help you cultivate your ability to find true contentment and inner freedom.

What does a session look like?

Sessions are guided, experiential, and body-based. In an online session we dive straight into the training after a short introduction. You may sit, lie down, or stand depending on the focus.
In person bodywork takes place lying down fully clothed on a floor mat or massage table.

The practitioners is deeply releasing themselves throughout the entire session so they can directly transmit a deep calm nervous system to nervous system. We act as a guide to help you notice refined mental qualities, different areas and levels of the body which hold habitual tension/contraction and the process of release as you are given feedback by the practitioner or the training method.

During a bodywork session the feedback to transmit this skill of release is done through touch and varying degrees of pressure. In the training, we focus on releasing into simple stretched, yoga postures or we work in more of a meditative fashion to refine the use of awareness and attention.
We focus on finding more ease and enjoyment as the process of release continues and deepens.

If someone has worked with us a few times, we may then focus more on training methods to deeply open the body and “stress test” the release process to show you how to release under pressure so the work integrates into daily life, work and other forms of training and exercise.

Sometimes this feels like a soft release, sometimes like an emotional shift, and often a surprising sense of spaciousness, peace, calm, joy and even bliss arises as the work deepens.

How Does it Help with Stress?

Stress shows up as contraction in the body and mind.
By learning to directly perceive and release that contraction, you’re addressing the root mechanism of stress rather than just the surface symptoms. With practice, daily life feels less overwhelming, and there’s more space to respond instead of react.

By training the body and mind to release deeply (especially under pressure, such as in our body opening practice, yoga postures and in applying internal release in daily life), we learn to become more calm and peaceful, and also more easily able to come back into balance when life throws us out of balance.

This type of training is able to rewire the way we respond to stress, eventually creating a “water off a duck’s back” sort of effect, where we respond to potential stress by softening, releasing and opening more and more creating a new habit. This habit leads towards living in a state of equanimity instead of constant reactivity.

Access to this state of equanimity creates the foundation for beautiful way to live where we become more stable, tranquil and resilient, even when life throws curve balls our way!
